Plastic, laminated cartons and some composite materials may have low surface energy, which can affect ink adhesion, edge stability and abrasion resistance.

Corona treatment improves the material surface before printing, helping UV ink wet and adhere better. In a UV inkjet line, corona treatment, color printing and UV curing can work as a continuous process.

For real projects, sample testing should check corona power, print distance, UV lamp power and conveyor speed together instead of relying on a single parameter.
