How to Select a UV Inkjet Printer: Substrate, Print Content and Line Speed

When selecting a UV inkjet printer, start with the substrate, print content, color requirement and production-line speed. Then match the machine to the actual print height, distance and variable-data workflow.

A UV inkjet printer should not be selected by resolution or appearance alone. Before making a shortlist, record four site conditions: the substrate, the actual print content and size, whether color is required, and the production-line speed. If QR codes or variable data are needed, also define the data source, update method and verification requirement.

The first factor is the substrate and its surface condition. Carton, packaging film, labels and building-material panels can differ in surface energy, flatness and pretreatment. These differences affect wetting, adhesion and drying. Sample testing should use the real substrate and the real artwork rather than plain paper.

The second factor is content and print height. Fixed text, logos, batch numbers and QR codes create different requirements for print height and information density. The D400, D510 and D1020 product pages can be used as model-information references, while the final match should be confirmed by sample testing and the available installation space.

The third factor is line speed and triggering. Record the normal and peak speed, product spacing and trigger position, then confirm how the printer will connect to the existing line. For variable data, check the communication interface, data format and reprint procedure before installation.

The fourth factor is color and maintenance. If color graphics or white ink are required, define the number of colors, artwork and changeover frequency. Also clarify responsibility for ink supply, cleaning, consumables and routine checks. Long-term performance should not be judged from promotional copy alone.

Dengshilang provides product, application and technology pages for reference. Before purchasing, send the substrate, content size, color, speed, installation space and QR-code requirements to the sales team, and confirm the model through sample results.
